Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidence-based trauma treatment that helps people quickly resolve distressing memories, anxiety, and emotional pain. ART uses guided eye movements along with brief visualization techniques to help the brain reprocess difficult experiences so they no longer feel overwhelming.
During ART sessions, clients remain fully in control and awake while the therapist gently guides them through specific eye movement patterns. These movements help the brain process stored memories in a way that reduces emotional intensity and allows the nervous system to settle.
One of the unique aspects of ART is that clients do not need to share the details of their trauma out loud if they do not wish to. Instead, the brain does the work of reorganizing the memory internally, allowing many people to experience relief in a relatively short period of time.
ART has been shown to be effective for concerns such as:
- Trauma and PTSD
- Anxiety and panic
- Grief and loss
- Phobias
- Stress and intrusive memories
- Performance blocks
Many people experience significant improvement within just a few sessions. The goal of ART is not to erase memories, but to change the way they are stored in the brain so they no longer trigger the same emotional or physical distress.
By helping the brain complete unfinished processing, ART allows clients to move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and emotional freedom.
